Steadfast
With her traditional rigging and spacious decks, Steadfast is an excellent resource for conducting outdoor educational experiences that are creative and dynamic. Tasks involved in the running of the ship promote the development of individual coordination, physical strength, and teamwork, in an ever-changing environment. Steadfast also offers an excellent platform for demonstrating key concepts such as mechanical advantage, aerodynamics, navigation, weather, and stability. Seamanship and boating safety are naturally an ongoing part of the experience.
Steadfast has been built on the lines of the early 20th century French pilot cutters, which kept station at sea in all weather, awaiting incoming ships in need of a pilot to enter port. She is safe and seaworthy, and is ideal for offering small groups of people of all ages a taste of ships and the sea.
Programs can be tailored to suit your particular educational or training requirements, from half-day orientation or sail training sessions to extended coastal passage adventures.
